What is the Showcase?

The Showcase is Etsy's first online, group advertising program. Sellers now have the opportunity to pay a small fee for a one-day advertising slot. The Showcase is linked from a banner on the Etsy home page. This is a great promotional tool for Etsy shops to get a little added exposure.

Each day, the Showcase features 36 different Etsy shops by displaying their top six 'featured items' in their shop. The first item is used as a large thumbnail displayed in the Showcase. When clicked on, more information about that item appears along with small thumbnails for that shop's next five featured items. There are immediate options to read more or add the item to your shopping cart.

When an item featured on the Showcase is sold, it is removed and the next featured item from that shop moves in to replace the sold item.

How can I be on the Showcase?

A one-day slot on the Showcase costs $7.00. Sellers may purchase multiple days -- but not multiple slots on the same day.

Showcase spots (36 slots per day) generally go on sale on a first come, first serve basis starting at 12 noon eastern time EST on two days each month--one in the middle and one at the end (actual dates vary). The sale will be announced on the this blog. The next showcase sale will probably be mid-May.

When showcase slots are available, you can purchase a showcase (1 or 2 spots) for a 2-week period. When showcase sales are announced, approximately 500 (36 x 14) spots go on sale. To purchase an actual showcase, all you need to do is select the day you want from a drop-down menu, and click "submit".
